British Hujjaj Association expresses grief over death of Jordanian pilgrims

AMMAN — The Association of British Hujjaj (pilgrims) UK (ABH) expressed its grief over the death of five Jordanian pilgrims on Friday, in a road accident in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, a statement from the association said on Monday.

“We are all shocked and extremely saddened by this tragic road accident, and, on behalf of the British Muslim community, we would like to send our condolences and deepest sympathies to the families, relatives and friends of the deceased pilgrims,” the statement quoted Khalid Pervez, General Secretary of ABH, as saying.

Long distance driving in hot weather and lack of sleep and rest of the drivers are considered as contributing factors of most road accidents in the recent years, where a substantial number of pilgrims lost their lives in and around Saudi Arabia, the statement added.
