Protect the sanctity of Harmain Al Shareefain – Appeal made to King Abdullah

The Muslims from around the world are extremely concerned about the growing culture of disregard for the sanctity of the House of Allah and the Rawda Al Sharifa of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) by some naive pilgrims. It is immensely disturbing that these pilgrims, in Al-Haramain Al-Shareefain, are busy with their cameras flashing lights while taking or posing for photographs as well as in making videos and using their mobile phones rather than concentrating on their prayers. They are showing total disrespect to the House of Allah and the Rawda Al Sharifa of the Prophet (Peace be upon him).

This nuisance specifically in the vicinity of the House of Allah and the Rawda Al Sharifa of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) has taken away the peace and serenity of Al-Haramain Al-Shareefain and the essence of the pilgrimage and is causing extreme discomfort and disturbance to other pilgrims.

The Association of British Hujjaj (Pilgrims) UK (ABH), a National Hajj & Umrah specific organisation working for the welfare and well-being of pilgrims has written a letter to the Custodian of the Two Holy mosques, HRH King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in which they have appealed to him to make every effort to protect the sanctity of Rawda Al Sharifa and Haram-e-Kaa’ba by banning the use of cameras and mobile phones and to ensure that pilgrims refrain from the activities that violate its sanctity. It will also allow other pilgrims to perform theiri’badah in peace and tranquillity.
